Snug Harbor is a neighborhood adjacent to the Sailor's Snug Harbor, a historic park along the North Shore of Staten Island. This 83-acre park houses many landmarked 19th century buildings, as well as botanical garden, and The New York Chinese Scholar's Garden. What used to be senior homes for aged sailors is now a unique center for arts and recreation. The residential area of Snug Harbor is made up of mostly older homes, on three lined streets, in various styles: Colonial, Cape, Ranch, and Victorian. There are also some new and newer homes nestled on a couple of blocks within the neighborhood.
