Fort Wadsworth is a neighborhood on the North East shore of Staten Island. It is named after the US Military base nearby, which is currently a part of the Gateway National Recreation Area. The neighborhood is neighboring with South Beach to the south, Rosebank to the west, and Shore Acres to the north. It offers a mix of older colonial homes, with some newer semi-attached houses, as well as condominiums and co-op apartments. It is home to Alice Austen House down at the north end of Hylan Blvd, which houses a museum and exhibition space. The neighborhood is south after by those seekingn a short commute to Manhattan, as it's close to the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and served by a numer of buses nearby.
